In many ways, local artists are at the heart of every community.

Not only do they contribute billions of dollars in tangible economic activity, but artists are the builders of a healthy, vibrant local culture. And largely these artists are free agents — independent workers and freelancers who support and are supported by local communities.

The addition of a trickling fountain in the East area of your home will bring your kith and kin much needed calming Chi, especially at the dinner hour/fifteen minutes, after cross-country but before rushing off to piano lessons. Be mindful about keeping the water clean at all times and keep positioned high enough out of the reach of thirsty pets!

    Feng Shlopism!:

My fake plants died because I did not pretend to water them.

Feng Shlop says its OK to add a less-maintenance, but ‘lovely-just-the-same’ dried arrangement versus gorgeous, pain-staking pots of the real thing!

  • FENG SHLOP YOUR WORK SPACE!

    AUTHOR: // CATEGORY: Uncategorized

So you don’t have the perfect space for your office and work?? That’s perfectly fine … you can still be creative AND meet those deadlines.   Use a mirror (of course no sharp edges) or gorgeous flowers to correct the space. If your office is extremely irregular, don’t let inexplicable setbacks and continuous frustrations at work keep you down. If you can’t switch offices, (may be the perfect timing to insist on that space you want close to that great aroma/coffee everyone is raving about), you can apply this special nine green plants cure: Add nine healthy new plants to your space all on the same day. The plants should be purchased new for the purpose of this cure. Place the plants near particular irregularities in the room, such as strange angles, posts, cramped areas, and so on. Otherwise, just stick them where they fit best. For full results from this cure, visualize that your job and career are going very well.  Or visualize that your sitting at your desk in a field of poppies!  Good Luck, and make ready for the boat load of cash you will receive with your new bonus sure to come your way as well.

  • DOING ONE THING AT A TIME?

    AUTHOR: // CATEGORY: Uncategorized

One definition of Zen is ‘doing one thing at a time’  – which helps explain why Zen masters look so calm and live so long!

If you cannot find the time to take this advice, we certainly can continue day-trading while we text our friends, stack our paperwork on every surface of your homes and offices and forget to water our Bonsai until it appears more like cactus.

While we appreciate the fact that we will never achieve that perfect balance, let’s try to do that ‘one thing’, perhaps once a week to start.  Take the hour long walk, leave phone at home,  ~ the genuine R and R you enjoy will help everything else that day flow.  Imagine a look of a Zen master … imitate it like you mean it!

At least we would get some travel time in …

Take a listen in the halls of any company or at any cross country meet, soccer match or whatever activity you find yourself at today :) … and you’ll hear the same lament: “I’ve got too many balls in the air!” Life in our time-strapped, chaotic world has become a juggling act, both at work and at home. We’re all jugglers now, and we all have to learn how to do it better, or LEARN TO LET SOME THINGS GO!!!

  • ABUNDANTLY BLESSED? END OF SUMMER AND STILL FEELING GREAT …

    Giving Back!

Let’s face it: if you have abundant clutter in your life ~ you are abundantly blessed!

It’s our philosophy that you should count your blessings. However, and while we’ve determined that you don’t need to improve yourself (because you’re just find the way you are) – we’ve also determined that the one thing we can’t get enough of in our lives is pleasure! Giving to those less fortunate than ourselves is one of life’s great pleasure, and you are in a position to do so.

If you want to minimize your shlop, we recommend you do it in small doses. Pick a room, a closet, or maybe just your end table to start. Get two garbage bags – one for actual garbage, and one for those useful items that someone else needs more than you. Fill one trash bag, and one charity bag. Tuck the charity bag in the trunk of your car and drop it at the nearest shelter, thrift store, Salvation Army, Goodwill or any other worthy charity. You’ll feel great! So will the person who gets to benefit from your gently used goods!
